Colorado, January 2011

I have almost given up on this blog. It is hard to find the time to sit and update, especially without a laptop. But I am going to give it a try.

We just returned from a trip to Breckenridge, CO. It was a great trip. Got to spend some quality time with the kids and family. I enjoyed visiting with Lindsay & Jeff. I know Gabriella and Brayden enjoyed playing with their Auntie Lou & Uncle.

There were some great powder days on the mountain and great groomed days. I was good about taking pictures of each firsts of the kids. For example Brayden's first time on skis, his first sled ride, Gabriella's first day at ski school, her first ride on a chair lift, etc. I get home and all of the pictures had been deleted from the camera. Bummed, bummed, ?@*%?!! On the positive side I was able to catch a couple of shots with my phone but that is it.

Gabriella just in from a morning of skiing

Gabriella, once dressed, enjoyed skiing for the morning. It was a lot of work for her little legs, but she did AWESOME! Once we got her out of ski school she took to flying down a hill true Morris Style. Hopefully next year she can take a refresher course for a day and then head out the rest of the week with us. We just have to move past the getting dressed hysterics. Brayden loved the snow and begged to go outside each day to play. Poor kid was cooped up for most of the time, but enjoyed going out to dinner, riding the gondola, and visiting the Mountain Top Children's Museum.

Brayden finally asleep on the plane after throwing a major fit, trying to kick the seat in front of him.

Brayden trying on "LaLa's" helmet, for over an hour!

As much fun as the trip was it was work. Totally worth it, because I got to escaped the mundane routines of daily life and have a little extra help. Now that I got my snow fix, I am ready for the beach!

Where have we been?

Where have we been? Good question. Seems I have less and less time to sit down and take a couple of minutes to update our blog.

A couple of weeks ago, Brian and I enjoyed ourselves a little cruise to the Bahamas. The Carnival Glory, exactly one week before the Carnival Splendor was stuck out in the Pacific. Anyways, was a great trip, we set out of Charleston, SC, which was awesome because of the driving convince.

The cruise consisted of 2 stops, Freeport and Nassau. On the first day we were out at sea we enjoyed the quiet Serenity deck and took ourselves 4 or 5 naps that day. I only got up once to use the restroom and Brian brought me lunch and drinks all day. What the life!

In Freeport we cabbed it to the beach and Brian enjoyed some banana boating with people from our ship and took a tour of Freeport. Not much there except a ladies coming by every 5 seconds to ask to braid my hair or sell me jewelry. Then we also had the sketchy guys trying sell shirts and other things that were illegal.

Leaving Freeport.

The second stop in Nassau, was more eventful. We toured the city for a bit, did a little shopping and got a bite to eat at Senor Frogs. That afternoon we had booked a snorkeling trip. The snorkeling adventure was to include 3 stops.

First stop, Mid 25 foot depth water with coral reef below close to the floor of the ocean. Beautiful. Our camera that is waterproof worked at first but then died. We got a couple of shots in but that was the end to our camera.

The second stop on the adventure the weather started to turn. This stop was right in the middle of the coral reef "The Elvis", but it the KING of the all coral reefs in the Bahamas. I got a little freaked out because you cannot touch the coral. It will die once humans touch it and also there was fire coral that can sting you up to 3 months. We were swimming so close to it I had to get out, plus one of the fellow snorkelers bumped into the fire coral and starting hollering, so that was my cue to get out.

The third stop, Brian was looking forward to this one our whole trip, was out in the deep blue open water to swim with sharks. Optional. The weather continued to get worse and rain was pelting us, waves were crashing and the boat was all over the place. Our guides took us to the spot but did not allow anyone in the water because of the conditions. So instead of swimming with the sharks they brought the sharks up really close to our boat. Some of these mamas were 10 feet long and flailing and thrashing, trying to get the food at the back of our boat. I wish the camera worked. It was an amazing sight.

Just made port in Nassau. Atlantis behind us. We just admired from our ship, we didn't get a change to visit. Maybe next time.

Overall the experience on the cruise was great. Food was tasty and the entertainment and of course the dance club we frequented a bunch. It was a nice break from reality and it really made me miss my little darlings. As much as I get frustrated with myself as a mom, I missed them so much! No place like home!!!

Happy Halloween!!!!

Happy Halloween! We had a superb time trick-or-treating with the Vo's in their neighborhood in Roswell. Had some awesome grub and then headed out to spook and be spooked. Gabriella was the fair Snow White and Brayden was Dopey Dwarf. At first Gabriella was all about her black wig but when it came time ti wear it trick-or-treating, she had nothing to do with it. All and all a great night for all. Now I am just getting reading to head out of town with my hubby, minus the kids for a whole week.

F is for Fall!

Love, love, love the fall! I cannot say it enough. We made our way to Berry Patch Farms a couple of weekends ago and had a great morning. Perfect weather, perfect timing (just before the big crowd), and perfect company. The Vo's and Cici & Papa joined us on our annual trip.

My Family...best pic we could get with the three of us.
